FedEx is developing technology for the FedEx SameDay Bot, to provide same-day delivery in localized areas from neighborhood Lowe's locations. The delivery robot is being developed to operate on sidewalks and along roadsides while remaining stable and avoiding obstacles. Lowe's says the advantage of on-site delivery may be allowing contractors to continue working without costly interruptions and delays. Tests for the robot delivery technology are expected to begin in select markets this summer.
