We sometimes forget that not everyone goes to the World of Concrete--at least not every year. It's such a defining week in my year and has been for about the past 20 years or more. The big difference this year is that Informa, which now owns WOC, is running all of the events. That makes my life a bit simpler but it will still be a very busy week. If you haven't filled your schedule yet, here are a few things you might want to consider:

  • Quality in Concrete Slabs Luncheon and Forum: Bruce Suprenant, Tommy Ruttura, and Bryan Birdwell will be on hand to discuss what slab owners want and expect. How big is the gap between specification and expectation and how can we minimize that gap?
  • Concrete Polishing Luncheon and Forum: How should a polished floor be maintained? Learn what should go into an owner's manual--frequency, equipment, cleaning products.
  • Decorative Concrete Live: Concrete Decor magazine will stage a very impressive group of concrete artists including some scheduled demos, artists at work, and finished projects.
  • CC LIve: On Tuesday, I will be mostly in the CC Live booth (C6087) taping interviews with some prominent folks in oour business. The entire schedule will be posted in the Daily News on Tuesday morning but it will include Pierre Villere on the construction economy (11:00), introduction of the Most Influential People in our industry (2:00), and Peter Emmons on Concrete 2029 (2:30).

Lots of other things to see and do at WOC! For details, click here to go to the WOC Preshow Planner. I hope to see you there.
