Efflorescence, a deposit of salts on concrete, causes unsightly white stains where water passes through concrete. There are three ways to control efflorescence:
- Reduce water flow through the concrete
- Reduce the amount of salt contained in the mix ingredients
- Convert soluble compounds to an insoluble form.
Diluted acid solutions are effective ways to remove efflorescence.
