Haulers unload grease and septage from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., but the bays’ lighted canopies are equipped to allow for 24-hour delivery in the future.
Once the driver swipes a Dallas key and enters load type (septage or grease), the unit automatically directs a three-way selection plug valve to select the corresponding pipe position. The driver gets a printed receipt when the delivery is completed.
Haulers used to dump directly to the treatment plant’s headworks through a single hole in the ground. Now discharge bays have three-way plug valves that direct flow to the appropriate screening area.
The screening station handles septage and grease independently. The septage and grease screens have their own wash system and compactor, but there’s a common conveyor to a dumpster area.
