CT660 Vocational Trucks now offer the Product Link remote monitoring system at no cost for three years. Owners can monitor mileage, PTO usage, odometer readings, and more. Alerts are sent for loss of main battery power and nonauthorized movement during “key-off” intervals. The Class 8 trucks are available in many customizable options — including different body types like dump, refuse, hauler, and mixer. Standard features include heated mirrors with embedded turn signals.


Class 6 diesel with CNG option

The 2012 Ford F-650 has a new 6.8-liter V10 gasoline engine option — which is rated at 362 hp with 457 lbs.-ft. of torque and paired with six-speed automatic transmission. It can also be upfitted with a Ford-approved compressed natural gas kit. This Class 6 truck has a four-door cab.

Gas-powered, 6-speed automatic

It's been two years since the company last offered gasoline-powered N-Series Trucks. The 2012 models — which complement the diesel trucks already available — are powered by the Vortec 6.0-liter, small-block V8 engine that produces 297 hp and generates 372 lbs.-ft. of torque at 4,000 rpm. The powerplant is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission with double overdrive and lock-up torque converter. They can be upfitted with both compressed natural gas or liquefied petroleum gas.

Full line of pickups for varied needs

The 2012 lineup of Ram 1500 pickups includes regular, quad, and crew cab models in up to three box lengths. All equipped with 30+ safety features, a fuel-saving HEMI V8 engine, and a cargo management system that's integrated into both fender sides. The Tradesman HD has an 11,500-lb. maximum trailer rating, 3,100-lb. payload, and 17,500-lb. gross combined weight rating. The Crew Cab 4x4 Service Package offers special equipment to support police and other emergency services. And plug-in hybrid electric vehicle versions are being used by select cities as part of a three-year demonstration project by Chrysler and the Department of Energy.

The Class 8 Western Star 4700 vocational truck is designed for jobsite maneuverability, and can accommodate dump, crane, sewer vac, and plow segments. The International TerraStar 4x4 work truck delivers commercial-duty capability for a wide range of utility, landscape, and off-highway applications. Its 300-hp, 6.4-liter MaxxForce 7 V8 engine delivers 680 lbs.-ft. of torque. MaxxForce Advanced EGR emissions technology offers no-hassle emissions control, without the inconvenience of finding or filling liquid urea or the added weight of after-treatment equipment. The T440 is 2010 EPA- and CARB-compliant without using selective catalytic reduction technology or a diesel particulate filter. It operates on compressed or liquefied natural gas, and when combined with an automatic transmission to improve throttle and torque, provides excellent pulling power. Styling features include an aerodynamic sloped hood and bumper, and forward lighting with Halogen headlamps.

Fiberglass service body for pickups

A new addition to the Durashell line of fiberglass composite utility bodies, the Durashell 370 provides 370 cu. ft. of internal storage space and can be transferred, fully loaded, from one pickup truck to another in minutes. The 270-lb. service body uses four corner tie-down clamps to lock in place by clamping under the bed rail.

New front-end designs with chrome mesh grilles and heated/cooled seat options (LTZ models) help to enhance the 2012 Silverado's appearance and driver comfort. A navigation radio, OnStar and Sirius XM satellite radio, Bluetooth, USB, and dealer-installed Wi-Fi system deliver connectivity. With the exception of hybrid models, all 1500s feature trailer sway control and hill-start assist.



Automated-manual transmission

The AMT3 automated-manual transmission for Business Class M2 vehicles combines manual transmission design principles with intelligent electronics to form an automated two-pedal shift system that improves fuel economy. It eliminates the torque converter and instead couples the engine to the transmission with a hydraulically actuated clutch for smoother clutching. It's available for Freightliner Class 6 and 7 trucks.

The company has partnered with Autocar LLC to develop the industry's first fully-integrated Class 7 cabover truck chassis specifically for street sweepers: a Whirlwind sweeper mounted on an Autocar Xpert chassis. The chassis is designed to meet the unique requirements of sweeper customers, with precise placement of cab/chassis components that do not interfere with the sweeper mounting.

Natural-gas refuse trucks

First introduced in 2010 for refuse and recycling, the TerraPro Natural Gas low-entry and cabover models can run on compressed, liquid, landfill, and hydrogen compressed natural gas. In-cab Control Link and back-of-cab Body Link II systems, as well as pass-through harnesses and connectors from the controller to the body, provide quick connections to the control unit.

Keep tools safe, dry in your truck bed

Weather Guard Hi-Side Truck Boxes have been redesigned to channel rain and snow off the box to keep contents dry. Other improvements include a drill-resistant lock core and an attachment point at the rear of each box to secure or lock down tools in the truck bed. Aircraft-type cables quickly unhook with QuickClips — especially helpful when you're reaching into the box on taller, heavy-duty vehicles.

The Vacall AllCatch sweeper offers one of the greatest vacuum forces in the industry to quickly collect debris on big cleanup jobs. One engine powers both the chassis and vacuum system, saving fuel and reducing emissions. The vacuum tube, available in various sizes, removes wet or dry leaves, asphalt, litter, stones, and rocks from roadside curbs and catch basins.
