The Concrete Institute is not necessarily known for innovation—it typically takes six years for a committee to revise its guide document, but that may change at the ACI Fall 2013 Convention in Phoenix, Oct. 20-24, which has the theme of Innovation in Conservation: The Rise of Phoenix. Session topics will include emerging technologies, what’s new in curing, innovation in cooling mass concrete, and an introduction of new trends in design and construction. And, of course, there are always interesting ideas presented in the committee meetings. Visit www.concrete.org.
