When precast producers meet at Orlando's Orange County Convention Center for The Precast Show March 1-3, they will be joined by the International ICON Expo Concrete Exposition for concrete masonry and hardscape producers and suppliers.
The combined event creates a showcase for the entire manufactured concrete products industry–and brings Precast Show sponsors National Precast Concrete Association (NPCA) and American Concrete Pipe Association together with ICON Expo hosts Interlocking Concrete Pavement Institute (ICPI), National Concrete Masonry Association (NCMA), and Cast Stone Institute.
Almost 200 exhibitors will offer equipment, products, and services, and perform Hands-On-Training demonstrations in the Precast Pavilion each day. A Masonry and Hardscape pavilion has also been added this year.
A comprehensive educational program will offer opportunities in all facets of precast, masonry, and hardscape, including courses in design, installation, finance, management, marketing, production and safety, quality, sustainability, and advanced technical training. On March 4 and 5, Precast University sessions will provide in-depth curriculum on several topics.
At an awards luncheon on March 1, NPCA will present its Creative Use of Precast (CUP) Awards for projects promoting innovative and cost-saving advantages of precast concrete, Pinnacle Awards for ideas and inventions that solve industry challenges, and Safety Awards for producer achievements during 2011.
Venture out on March 1 to visit J.E. Hill Precast in Leesburg or the Gate Pre-cast Co. in Kissimmee.
You also can tour three local block and paver plants on March 3: A-1 Block, Bedrock Industries, and Tarmac.
An Epic Grand Celebration will conclude the event, with a party at the Disney Hollywood Studios Epic Stunt Theater on March 3.
