This underwater sculpture garden, Museo Subacuatico de Arte, may seem a little creepy, but it’s certainly creative. Artist Jason deCaires Taylor has made more than 500 concrete sculptures molded from real people in the fishing village where he lives, near Cancun, Mexico. As reported in the New York Times, the sculptures are made from concrete that has a near-neutral surface pH that encourages coral growth. After a few years, they will disappear under the coral, becoming the base for a new reef. To see all his underwater concrete sculptures, go to www.jasondecairestaylor.com.
