Molded Fiber Glass Construction Products (MFG CP), manufactured 2,000 waffle forms for Canada’s Kitchner public library. The waffle forms will be used to form a waffle effect in the ceiling of the newest two floors of the 25,000 square foot addition. The public library was built in 1962, when the city’s population was 70,000, now with an excess population of 215,000 renovations to library and additional parking were critical. The project broke ground September 2010 and will take approximately 2.5 years to complete.
“Our architectural forms are used throughout the US, Canada and Mexico in libraries, hospitals, aquariums, manufacturing facilities and college campuses; they are now being used to rebuild the San Diego’s New Central Library, Joe Kusiak, Sales Manager said. The library was designed to meet all future requirements and is being constructed to the highest standards of energy efficiency.”
