The patented Tri-Vac technology on the Guarda Edge Power Cutter is an industry-first. An extraction hose is connected to the blade guard via a shroud and a wet-vacuum is connected to the other end. During cutting, water is delivered inside the blade guard, mixing with dust to create slurry. The slurry is extracted down the hose and into the wet-vacuum during cutting. With superb slurry control cleanup is very minimal. No other wet-saw captures slurry during the cutting process.

Unlike conventional wet cutting, only about 1% of slurry escapes the blade guard. The silica dust control is measured at 8-hour TWA of less than 0.01mg/m3 or below measurable limits. At the same time, the exhaust fumes are funneled down the same tube and safely removed from the cutting area as long as the vacuum is situated outside. The saw and blade guard move independently, allowing the blade guard to sit flush to the cutting surface for longer. The saw can also be ergonomically positioned as it moves up and down a wall.

Based on Guarda's readings, respirators would not need to be worn using this saw even cutting indoors all day. The combination of water and LEV together creates unbeatable silica dust control. The fume control makes the Guarda Edge Power Cutter safe for indoor use. Fumes are cooled with airflow and water (the same water used to feed the blade guard). The manifold where the fumes eject from the muffler remains cool to touch, assuring the plastic tube will never melt as long as the water and vacuum are turned on.

This saw can replace conventional gas-powered saws and electric and hydraulic saws. With the Guarda Edge Power Cutter, contractors can rationalize their product range, saving time and money.
