Purpose built for disaster response, the MPS is a multi-faceted vehicle that can deliver over 250 kWh of lithium-ion battery power while using its configurable work platform to clear debris, deliver supplies and tow equipment to an emergency. It accommodates all CAT and Bobcat attachments, is operated via an encrypted remote control, provides a full set of hydraulic tool circuits, and is submergible to 4 feet of flood water.
“The MPS provides utility to our nation’s first responders,” founder and CEO Gary Dannar said. “It is designed with off-the-shelf, tier one components, making it the first configuration designed to carry this much energy and utility. But the key to its value is the return on investment cities and counties get by being able to use the MPS for everyday work, in addition to its unprecedented emergency power.”
The MPS is equipped with multiple 33 kWh battery packs from BMW, large planetary axles from Dana, and a certified hydraulic system from Parker Hannifin. It can pull over 33,000 lbs. and lift over 7,000 lbs. with optional work arms or forklift mast. The bed area is configurable with a three-way tilt option, scissor lift or flat bed.
The Muncie Sanitary District in Muncie, IN, is one of the first customers of the MPS and utilizes it as a stand-by emergency generator, but also to perform daily maintenance tasks such as road sweeping, grapple for river tree removal, snow blowing and asphalt planing.
Compared to single-purpose diesel equipment, the MPS is the first off-road equipment manufacturer to provide a fully electric drivetrain that can provide a day’s work on a single charge.
“It costs nearly half as much to run the MPS on a daily basis versus a 90 hp diesel tractor,” Dannar said. “And because it is electric, there are significantly less moving parts and nearly zero maintenance.”
