This was a 12,500-sq.-ft. modern home, new construction. We did several samples six months before the floor was ready for polishing. The owner wanted some rooms with black stained floors so we suggested integral color. The floors were troweled badly, were not level, and were spalled in many areas, so we had a big challenge to make these floors look good.
The circular room was poured with black integral color with stainless strips recessed into the floor. So this was a huge and difficult challenge. To polish without damaging the stainless, we used hybrids and resins for this room. The polished areas totaled 5500 sq. ft. The garage and upper decks were done with 50M resin and sealed for a clean look.
