The assembly of a launching gantry crane necessary to replace the Corpus Christi, Texas Harbor Bridge, is underway. The city is two years into the $930 million project, with the 1,500-ton crane expected to be complete by the end of October.

Flatiron/Dragados LLC of Robstown, Texas, are head contractors of the project. According to a status report, 559 of the 2,600 pre-cast concrete segments required have been poured and completed. The new bridge is expected to be finished by spring of 2020.
