The Type JD Transit System Emergency Evacuation Doors feature engineered lift assistance and a two-point panic locking mechanism that allows the doors to open with less than 30 pounds of force.
Additional features may be added at the ground level to ensure reliability and added safety. To prevent structural damage, the doors are reinforced for vehicular loading to withstand the weight of a car or truck that may drive on to the sidewalk, and come with a slip-resistant coating to ensure pedestrian safety.
