Humboldt Bay Watershed Coordinator Craig Benson, MS, draws on 25 years' experience in non-point source pollution plan implementation and stormwater management projects to lead this introductory course on erosion and sediment control.

He'll outline a logical sequence of four lines of defense — flow controls, erosion controls, sediment controls, and good housekeeping — including best management practices (BMPs) and products for each.

Participants will be able to: Differentiate between mass wasting, fluvial, and wind erosion; list four lines of defense for construction site management; and learn the importance of employing multiple BMPs.
