GemSeal Mastics are a hot-applied compound used for the partial or full-depth repair of concrete and asphalt pavements. The material is available in two forms, an asphalt-based, black material for asphalt repairs and a resin-based material for concrete repairs. Both contain select aggregates, which give the product load-bearing characteristics. The mastics uses include repairing wide, depressed cracks; correcting elevation issues; leveling uneven transitions; repairing spalled concrete; repairing alligatored areas (surface repair); and repairing utility cuts. Furthermore, the material remains flexible, yet it is stronger than most conventional repairs for a longer-lasting result and re-opened to traffic within a few hours.
