Wheaton, IL (October 3, 2012) – RJN Group, Inc. (RJN) is performing an evaluation of the City of Falls Church, Virginia storm water collection system in the Hillwood Ave/Douglas Ave area and the Maple Ave/Broad Street Ave area. In those two areas, the City wants to update their storm sewer hydraulic model to evaluate drainage challenges.
The evaluation project has been divided into two phases. During the first phase, RJN will provide field investigation services including inspection of each catch basin and/or storm sewer manhole; and document pipe material and pipe diameter measurements to update the City hydraulic model. Where defects are observed in the pipe from the basin and/or manhole (access structure), or the entire pipe cannot be observed from the access structure, then closed circuit television inspection will be recommended and performed under the second phase of the project in order to document the extent and location of the pipe defects.
NASSCO PACP/MACP certified RJN engineers will review each pipe segment and access structure that was inspected and develop an appropriate condition rating for each asset. Rehabilitation recommendations will be developed based on the structural condition review and reported to the City in a Memorandum of Findings.
