Based on a Ford F-750 single-cab chassis, the Rumble Hog 7500 is a self-contained system for quickly and accurately adding rumble strips to asphalt and concrete and milling up old pavement markings. The truck’s operator moves the rear-mounted cutter drum from side to side using a joystick in the cab. Once positioned, the laser-guided system automatically follows any line, whether it’s centered directly on top or 12 feet away, to within 1/16 in. Cutting is mechanically and electronically synchronized with the truck’s forward movement to eliminate skipping, producing up to 22,000 banana or sinusoidal cuts an hour. Milling rate is 440 ft./min. Built-in vacuum eliminates need for sweeping equipment; debris is stored in on-board storage bin. Cuts, grinds, grooves, and mills in widths of 4 ft. to 16 ft. that can be customized in 2-ft. increments.
