Wantman Group, Inc. (WGI), in association with Community Asphalt Corp., is pleased to announce its selection by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District 4 to provide design-build services for a 2.1-mile segment of SR 7 extending from Fillmore Street to south of Sterling Road in Broward County, Florida. The primary project goal is to provide additional capacity resulting in improved operational conditions, more reliable travel times, and reduced user delays. Collectively, the improvements to SR 7 will address congestion, accommodate future development along the corridor, enhance hurricane and other emergency evacuation needs, improve system connectivity of the State Highway System, enhance safety, and upgrade essential utilities.
WGI will lead the design team for this $30 million project and provide all roadway and utility design, survey, environmental services, permitting and construction administration for the project. This segment is a critical component of overall improvements to the corridor and will complete the gap between the existing 6-lane typical section south of Stirling Road and District 4’s proposed 6-lane reconstruction project immediately adjacent to the south (from 25th Street to Fillmore Street).
“We are excited to once again partner with District 4 on such a significant and impactful project,” said David Wantman, PE, president of WGI. “We have maintained a long, successful partnership with FDOT and its trust in WGI is a testament to our entire team's commitment to deliver. This project will result in comprehensive improvements across the board that will have immediate benefits for motorists and Hollywood residents, and pave the way for future development. We are excited to be the lead design partner on this critical SR 7 segment and look forward to a successful delivery.”
WGI has consistently worked with the FDOT for over 40 years.
