The Dancer Concrete Design team regularly gets to work with churches in Northeast Indiana and surrounding areas to help design functional and aesthetically pleasing places of worship. Churches often see high foot traffic, moving of chairs, tables, and other furnishings, and also need a comfortable environment for members of the congregations. Polished concrete flooring and epoxy floor coatings are excellent flooring solutions that meet all of these needs.
Lifehouse Church recently moved into their new location in Van Wert, Ohio. On a weekly basis, there are programs and services for people in every stage of life. During Sunday services, children as old as 18 are invited to learn about Jesus and worship in a fun, friendly environment. There are separate rooms, each with their own individual theme and purpose, for these services and meetings to happen.
This space was originally a strip mall with a few different stores. The old floors were vinyl floor tiles that were removed before the contractor arrived. There were three different color applications and two different finish levels to define these spaces.
In the children’s space, the floor was dyed Black and polished to a 400-grit satin finish.
In the guest services and volunteer rooms, the concrete was left it’s natural gray hue and polished to a 400-grit satin finish as well.
In the great hall, the penetrating dye Sand was applied and the space was finished to an 800-grit high-sheen level.
Aggregate in all of the spaces was exposed to a mixture of Class B and Class C aggregate - small to medium aggregate exposure.
