Each year we here at Concrete Construction recognize the Most Innovative Products presented at the World of Concrete. Entries for the 2019 show are now being accepted.
Last week at the Strategic Development Council meeting, I overheard a previous winner of a Most Innovative Products Award telling someone that if you paid to enter that winning was automatic. Au contraire! In fact in the category where that company entered, there were seven entries and only three were declared winners, so there’s nothing automatic about it. We take these awards seriously and have even declined to present an award at times if the entries didn’t seem to meet the criteria of being a new or dramatically improved product and of advancing concrete construction. The products that win an MIP are indeed innovative!
