This monolithic home called Eye of the Storm, is located in Sullivan Island, S.C. The egg-shaped design is by architect X Dilling and builder George Paul. Paul wanted to rebuild his parents home after they lost it to Hurricane Hugo in 1989. A hurricane-resistant structure is what inspired the organic shape, which is made out of concrete, steel, and glass. The three-bedroom home features windows set back from the exterior shell that serve as decks and balconies. The house is up for sale for the first time since its completion in 1991.
