This adaptive reuse of a commercial property as a single family residence features two connected masonry structures - a three-story barn dating from the 1870s and a 1.5 story commercial structure from 1913. The historic brick buildings were preserved and partially reconstructed to become the exterior shell for a contemporary home. More

The project is a renovated property where masonry was used extensively on site for a new garage, pool, decks, retaining walls, and veneer. The masonry was central in meeting the sustainable goals. Beyond aesthetics the CMU was selected for its recycled content, integral finish, ability to withstand earthquakes and wildfires. More
