The B:Hive (Business Hive), building at Smales Farm on Auckland, Australia's North Shore covers over 118,000 square feet of office space with state of the art meeting, event, and conference facilities that provide a flexible and vibrant working environment for small to medium businesses.
Allied Concrete, Conslab and MegaFloor, project team for the ground floor feature floor, worked closely with Leighs Construction, Jasmax/BVN and Smales Farm Park to come up with a high-end decorative concrete finish to suit the interior design brief.
Allied Concrete along with Megafloor provided early samples for approval, with the client selecting a Megafloor High Street premium finish for the main ground floor showcase and a Megafloor Urban Classic finish for the main atrium areas on levels one through four. Conslab designed the placement methodology and a curing technique to optimize a quality results, as this was a circa 65mm topping slab.
Teamwork (between NZCCA members) was essential to the successful outcome, as the project involved a topping slab laid over a structural slab; a technically challenging undertaking that demanded high workmanship and a collaborative approach with proper placement, curing, supply, and then finishing using the Megafloor High Street Premium system.
